Mercy Day 2026- OLMCC Burraneer

BACK

Mercy Day is a cherished occasion across our community, offering a moment to honour the Mercy values that continue to guide and inspire Our Lady of Mercy College each day. As we mark 91 years since the College’s founding, this year’s celebration carries particular significance.

Our Mercy Day began with a deeply moving Mass, during which our community gathered in gratitude for the Mercy tradition that shapes our identity. The liturgy invited us to reflect on the legacy of Catherine McAuley, whose profound faith, courage, and compassion remain a living influence in our mission. Her unwavering commitment to the works of Mercy continues to inspire our service to young women. As Catherine reminds us, “No work of charity can be more productive or good to society than the careful instruction of women.”

Mercy Day also provides an opportunity to recognise those whose daily actions embody the Mercy charism. This year, we warmly congratulated a dedicated staff member, the recipient of the 2026 Living Mercy Award. Nominated by staff, this honour acknowledges individuals who exemplify Mercy through their service, compassion, and contribution to college life.
