Who We Are as an Association

Our Mission

The Australasian Mercy Secondary School Association (AMSSA) is a collaborative network of Mercy secondary schools across Australia, New Zealand and the wider Oceania region, united in the spirit and vision of Catherine McAuley.

Founded on the enduring values of compassion, justice, hospitality and service, the Association exists to strengthen and sustain Mercy education by fostering connection, formation and shared purpose among member schools. Through conferences, leadership initiatives, student engagement and professional collaboration, AMSSA provides opportunities for educators and students to deepen their understanding of the Mercy charism and its relevance in the contemporary world.

AMSSA is committed to nurturing communities that embody Mercy in action. The Association supports schools in responding courageously to the educational, spiritual and social challenges of our time, while remaining grounded in the Gospel and the traditions of Mercy. By encouraging collaboration across schools and generations of Mercy educators, AMSSA seeks to inspire leadership that is hopeful, inclusive and responsive to the needs of others.

In continuing the legacy of the Sisters of Mercy, the Association enables member schools to work together in shaping young people who are informed, compassionate and committed to making a difference in their communities and beyond.
