With the majority of students learning from home remotely in the early days of Covid 19 the student leaders at Catherine McAuley Westmead continued in their leadership roles making videos for students and posting daily messages on the school’s intranet site.
For example, the student leaders reminded the student body of the student theme for 2020 ‘Care Share Dare’ through a video featuring all Year 11 and 12 leaders zooming from home as they sing the school song and chant the 2020 school theme. The video was put together by the Technology Student Leaders.
Each morning Catherine McAuley students are invited to read the daily student notices which contain messages from the student leaders and remind students to stay connected with each other.
Catherine McAuley Westmead encourages young women to be leaders and provides many opportunities for students to take on leadership roles with leadership portfolios including Liturgy, Culture, Environment, Hospitality, Learning, Sport, Technology and House Leaders.
