The Catherine McAuley Opening School Mass was an opportunity for Year 7 and new staff members to be formally welcomed into the Catherine McAuley community as they joined the school’s ‘Circle of Mercy’ for the first time.
The school thanks Bishop Vincent Long Van Nguyen, Fr Walter Fogarty, Fr Dennis Andrew, Fr Martino Da Costa, Fr Robert Bossino and Fr Chris Del Rosario for celebrating the Mass with the school community. They also thank the special guests who were able to joined in the celebrations – Sr Mary Louise Petro, Sr Maria Lawton, Sr Barbara McDonough and Sr Margaret Shepherd from the Sisters of Mercy, Parramatta, Mr Greg Whitby, Executive Director CEDP, Dr Geoff Lee, State Member for Parramatta, Mr Andrew Wilson, Lord Mayor – City of Parramatta Council, Senior Constable Dusan Dakic, School Liaison Police – Parramatta/Cumberland Youth & Crime Prevention Command and Mrs Angela Franulovic, President – Catherine McAuley Parents & Friends Association.
The school was delighted to have so many parents and families join with them for this special event to mark the start of the school year.
