Throughout Term 2, the school raised both funds and awareness for the Parramatta Women’s Shelter, with Ryan and Mercedes Houses leading this important initiative. At the assembly, Bailey S., Leader of Ryan House, and Erin M., Leader of Mercedes House, recapped the school’s fundraising efforts before presenting the cheque. The House Leaders spoke about the much-loved Mother’s Day Stall, Mother’s Day Raffle, Lip Sync Battle, Big Give Food Drive, and the many Homeroom and House fundraising activities, all of which made a significant contribution to the total amount raised.
On behalf of the Parramatta Women’s Shelter we say thank you! We are so grateful for the opportunities this donation will provide,” Lily Cannon, General Manager of the Parramatta Women’s Shelter, told the school assembly on Wednesday as she accepted a donation of $16,654 from the school.
The Parramatta Women’s Shelter was presented with a cheque for $11,200, shopping vouchers, and 11 cordless vacuum cleaners, bringing the total value of the donation to $16,654.

“Homelessness in Australia continues to grow and when you are dealing with women and children who are not only homeless but who are also experiencing domestic and family violence support is needed that can help with what can be really complex needs,” Lily said. “The support from Catherine McAuley helps us to allow women and children to go back out into the community and to live safely again. So thank you and God bless.”
