Jason Pacey from McAuley College, Beaudesert, Queensland, will take up the role of Principal Representative on the AMSSA Executive from 2026. Jason replaces Dan McMahon from Shalom College, Bundaberg. Dan is moving back to Brisbane to take up a role in the University sector. On behalf of all AMSSA members, I would like to thank Dan for his leadership and contributions to AMSSA, as well as his commitment to fostering our Mercy charism.

As the second Principal of McAuley College in Beaudesert, a school operating in the Mercy Tradition since 2017, Jason Pacey is committed to the stewardship of the Mercy Charism in all aspects of the College.

As a school soon to celebrate 10 years of operation in 2027, Jason is aware of the rich connection with the Sisters of Mercy and the importance of connecting with Mercy Schools and Institutions throughout Australasia.
Located on the Scenic Rim in Queensland, McAuley College is the only Catholic Secondary School in the region, supporting students from St Mary’s Beaudesert, which opened in 1901, and All Saints Boonah, which opened in 1956. All three Catholic Schools on the Scenic Rim operate in the Mercy Tradition, with both St Mary’s and All Saints staffed by the Sisters of Mercy, who still have a significant influence on the region to this day.
